Anti Termite Treatment

Termite is the most destructive pest known today by human beings. These are classified into three type viz. Dry Wood, Damp wood and Subterranean Termites. Subterranean termites are the main culprits, causing major structural timber damage to domestic and commercial buildings in India. Subterranean termites live in underground colonies from where they infiltrate into the buildings through tiny cracks and crevices. A gap of just 0.5 mm. is enough for them to gain entry. Once they gain entry they work quickly and silently, moving in the mud shelter tubes and destroy woodwork, furniture, paper products and any article having cellulose base in the search of food.
Termites are social insects and can form such large colonies consisting of very different looking individuals called as termite caste, each caste having a different role to perform and all interdependent upon each other for survival of the colony. This includes reproductive castes (Queen and King), soldiers, workers and primary reproductive which are called as Swarmer (winged termite) which occur in spring season.
Anti Termite Treatments are performed namely at two levels:
* Pre – Construction
* Post Construction

* Pre – Construction
The pre-construction anti termite treatment starts right from the Foundation Stage of any structure & the various steps conducted go hand in hand with the civil activities of the construction process. We use highly professional and advanced techniques for treating the Termite Infestation at Pre- Construction Site with the Proceeding Stages. Virus based treatments are applied to the outside, inside and also in the foundation to eradicate the colonies of termites till the rock bottom levels at Pre Construction sites. Injecting virus based chemicals in areas like the foundation, within the foundation walls and also areas under the concrete slabs using hi-tech pneumatic pumps is part of our specialized termite control treatment plan.
Stages of Pre – Construction Treatment
* Foundation Levels / External Soil Treatment
A chemical toxic barrier is created between the soil and the building that has to be protected. This is achieved in the following manner:
After the excavation is completed & the soil is dressed in a manner that no other excavation has to take place, holes are drilled / dug up as close as possible to the plinth wall about 300-500mm (1-2ft) apart from each other. Insecticide is then poured, so that it reaches the soil to eliminate the termites present there and to stop them from re-infesting. If the building is on columns, the holes are drilled around the column pits before laying the PCC and insecticide poured into the soil.
If there is loose earth around the walls of your building, trenches of a 'shovel width' are dug, exposing the external surfaces of the foundation wall up to a depth of 500 mm from the ground level. While re-filling the trenches, the dug up earth is returned in layers & insecticide is sprayed over the back fill earth.
* Refilled Earth / Plinth Filling
Before laying the floor, we provide treatment at the top surface of the consolidated earth within the plinth walls & also ensure that back filling against foundation is treated to its full depth. Backfilled earth on each side of all built up walls, which will be in immediate contact with the foundation, will be treated with water base chemical solution at vertical surface of the substructure. The chemical shall be directed towards the masonry surfaces so that earth in contact with these surfaces is well treated with the chemical. If required a water bed is created with a depth of 75 – 100 mm & chemical emulsion is left to free flow, so as to have penetration at every inch of the soil.
* Under Floor Treatment
This stage covers the treatment of RCC slabs on each floor before the floorings like marble, tiles, etc are applied by drilling or spraying the chemical emulsion. Pest Aid offers an additional spray treatment to the brick masonry walls along with the wooden door frames immediately before the plasters are applied to the walls. This takes care of any possible termite content being transited to the construction site while the bricks are lying in open areas outside the building limits.
* Vulnerable Wooden Portions of the Building
This stage covers the treatment of the expensive woodwork like doors, windows and wardrobes which are highly susceptible to termite attack. This is done by drilling holes in the wooden areas like the door frames, window frames, wardrobes before any kind of final finish like paint, polish or mica is being applied to the surface.
* Final Check & External Chemical Barrier
After the above stages are complete in all respects & to the satisfaction of the customer or the engineer-in-charge, a final check up is done in the entire building so as to assess any kind of leaking pipelines, new or left out wood work, etc. Further a chemical barrier wall is created along the perimeter of the building by drilling holes & injecting chemical emulsion along the boundary wall to barricade the entry of termites from the neighboring areas. If agreed with the client, a General Pest Control service is provided before the inmates of the building finally shift in
Post Construction
Commonly known as white ants, termites destroy valuable property, documents, furniture and furnishings…anything that contains cellulose, silently and swiftly, before you even become aware of the damage done. They crawl up through the minute cracks and crevices in the foundation and the walls of your building. As they march forward, they build mud channels to provide themselves with darkness and higher humidity which they require to survive. When you notice such marks on your walls you get an indication that your house is under attack by white ants. This is when you require Post- Construction Anti-Termite Treatment.
It is always advisable that when termites are noticed in one of the areas, systematic approach towards Anti Termite Treatment should be taken for the entire house as there is always a possibility for this hidden enemy to make tunnels in the rest of the house. This treatment takes care of the floor levels & the wooden parts of the building.
Pestaid offers the most advanced & unique technique of providing the Post Construction Anti Termite Treatment which involves the proper of application of WHO approved chemicals from the world leaders in pesticides “BAYER”. The entire range of BAYER products offer eco friendly treatments which do not cause any harm to the human health, be it to infants or elderly people. These products have a long lasting effect on the pest because of their unique properties & technical formulations.
This treatment comprises drilling holes in the junction of floor and wall at ground level, soaking them with the Termiticide and sealing them. This makes a completely undetectable chemical barrier around your property. Termites unknowingly forage through treated area, quickly passing the Termiticide throughout their population.The Post Construction Anti Termite Treatment is carried as per the under mentioned stages:

STAGE 1:
Treatment to floor and wall junction: Holes of 6mm diameter 18-20 inches apart will be drilled along the inner junction of floor and wall at depth of 6''on the entire floor surface. Termiticide emulsion will be injected under pressure into these holes to create barrier against termites. If heavy infestation is noticed on 1st / 2nd and above floors the same treatment will be carried out on those particular floors also.
 STAGE 2:
Treatment to wooden fixtures: Holes of 6 mm diameter will be drilled at the base and sides of wooden-fixtures such as window frames and doorframes adjoining the flooring and termiticide emulsion will be injected. This treatment will be carried out on all floors. (except basements/Terrace). An oil-based termiticide will be sprayed on all the woodwork highly infested by the termites within the premises. This is done in order to sustain that woodwork for future as the balance treatment shall be water based. Special care is taken in case furniture or wardrobes are attached to the wall as the termites can easily attack them. Drilling will be carried out throughout the sides & base of such fixture and termiticide solution will be injected.
STAGE 3:
Treatment to termite tubes: Visible shelter mud tubes are first sprayed, to control the existing movement of termites. The mud tubes will be then removed and treatment will be given to the infested area. This treatment shall also be provided to tunnels detected in the bathroom tiles.
STAGE 4:
Treatment along the external perimeter of the building: Trenching or drilling holes of 6mm diameter 18-20 inches apart along the external walls of the building at depth of 8-10 inches will be carried out to create a chemical barrier around the building. All the drilled holes will be sealed. If the building is on stilt, holes will be drilled only along the column side at ground level. If there is loose earth around the walls of the building, ramming will be done on every feet adjacent to the external surfaces of the foundation wall unto a depth of 300 mm from the ground level. If building is surrounded by garden, the treatment shall be carried out to soil, which is in immediate contact with the building.
NOTE:
At Pestaid, we pay utmost attention and take special care for built up houses, the Interiors, Paint / Polish work. The applicators are trained in such manner that they will treat the premises without disturbing or damaging any finished work. Still we suggest that the customer gets the treatment done in their presence.

Warranty:
The warranty for Anti – Termite (Pre / Post Construction) treatment varies depending upon residential or commercial site. The warranty stands for the premises covered & not for any adjoining area where the treatment is not done. Any re-infestation of termites during the warranty period considering the exclusions of the warranty clause is treated without any extra charge.

Wood Borer
Wood borers are tiny beetles whose larvae feed extensively on wood. The adults make tiny pinhead size holes on the wooden surface before flying out. The frass or powder then begins to fall out from these tiny holes. This is the first sign of infestation in the furniture. PESTAID covers wood borer also in its comprehensive Termite Protection Plan to eliminate the entire family of termites from the roots.

The Treatment
Wood Preservative chemicals are injected into the tiny holes created by the wood borers with the help of a syringe. This kills larvae present in the wood. The surface of the wood is also sprayed with chemicals that contain a petroleum base.
Benefits
* A warranted and long lasting solution to your wood borer problem.
* Preserves your precious furniture from wood borer damage.

Rat Baiting Stations

Rat Baiting Stations are widely used in commercial places where the movement of rats is very prominent. Rats have a tendency to move along the walls & these baiting stations are kept along the walls so as to give the rat a feel of the tunnels with suitable chemicals mixed in food particles kept inside the baiting stations. The rats after eating these baits run for water to drown & die there. Glue pads may also be used in these baiting stations so as to trap them safely. These are also available in different sizes.

Spikes for Bird Control

Birds can produce large quantities of unsightly and unhygienic feces,and some birds have very loud calls that can be inconvenient for nearby residents, especially at night.As a result, bird control spikes are used to deter these birds without causing them harm or killing them.

Bird control spikes, also known as Anti-Roosting Spikes, or 'Roost Modification', is a device consisting of long, needle-like rods used for bird control.

They can be attached to Building Ledges, Street Lighting, and Commercial Signage to prevent Wild or Feral birds from perching or roosting.

Bird control deterrent spikes are around 1 foot (0.30 m) long,and work by reducing the area available for birds to land on. This forces larger varieties of birds, such as seagulls, pigeons, crows and vultures, to land elsewhere. As the birds do not come into contact with the spikes, the birds go unharmed.
